A collaboration with school groups in Bulgaria and USA.
Children aged 6-14 worked online with Ivan to create drawings about climate change inspired by the Easy to Read book Hugo’s History, by Sabira Stahlberg.
Ivan then used the children’s drawings as the basis for ten digital paintings about the climate’s beginning, current trajectory and future possibilities.
The ten paintings are exclusively presented here as digital images and also exist as unique pigment inkjet prints on paper (30 x 41 cm). All participating children’s drawings are presented here as well.
This project is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Bulgaria; North Carolina Arts Council (USA); and Durham Arts Council (USA). It was carried out in collaboration with G. S. Rakovski Primary School in the village of Golyamo Novo, Bulgaria, and The ArtsCenter, Carrboro, NC, USA.
